No, I never did go to Jamaica

This is kind of old news for me, but I'm posting this because people are still asking me about it once in a while.

Yes, I thought that I was going to have to go to Jamaica - I did not want to and told my boss so. It would have been nice to make a little extra money, but I'd rather be done with waterslide building. I liked the work and the travel, but I didn't like the requirement that it take up nearly 100% of my life, never seeing family, never being able to make any lasting relationships with new people, etc. I could see that I was starting to go nuts.

Anyhow, my boss called me and said that they were having some problems getting the hardware down there so the job would be delayed some more (it had already been delayed twice). He was going to take a few people down to do whatever they could without the missing hardware. And he said that there was little point waiting around if I wanted to get on with my summer plans. So I was pretty excited and took off for Wyoming then Seattle, thus beginning my summer travels.

I spent some time with my sister and parents in Wyoming - went hiking and took a lot of pictures. My parents went out to Seattle with me, we went whitewater rafting on the Wenatchee with my brother who is a guide. My parents left - I stayed and hung out with my brother and took a lot more pictures.

I flew back to MSP (I just like to use the airport code), drove to Duluth, hung out with Becky, Sarah, and my other cousins up there. I left Duluth with Becky and Sarah, stopped in Burnsville to pick up Faith, and headed out to Charity's wedding in Idaho. We stayed in Spokane with the Burke's. We stopped at my parent's place in Wyoming on the way out and on the way back. I was hoping to pick up my dog on the way back, but My dad had taken him on a trip to the Gros Ventre (pronounced grow vont) and I couldn't wait for them to get back. I spent the 4th in Duluth, then headed down to Afton to house/horse/dog sit for the Arcos. Then I left for Cleveland, tried to go to Cedar Point, but it rained, went to Geauga Lake, picked up some people I found on craigslist's rideshare, dropped them off in Philadelphia, and went up to visit my cousin Dan in Scranton - which is where I am now.

Next I'm heading back to Cleveland to try Cedar Point again - I want to go several times because I effectively(not technically) have a season pass (No it doesn't have anything to do with my former waterslide job).

thinking putty

Thinking putty looks pretty cool. I haven't got my hands on any yet, but I gave some to my brother for Christmas a few years ago - I don't think that I gave him the hypercolor stuff, but it's pretty cool anyhow.

The link is to the paint with hot/cold section of the site. There is lots of other stuff to do with it so explore the website
