Here's a Video of the Tornado

This is a link to the video of the slide that we built in Wisconsin Dells. The one we built was enclosed, but you won't see any video of an enclosed one because we built the first.

you'll need real player or something that can play real movie format.

Proslide

This is the company that we are contracted to to build the Tornado in the Dells. Go to their website and you can see pictures and videos

Rode it

We rode the Tornado (the one that we built in Wisconsin Dells). The Canadian's from ProSlide came down to test it, but had to wait a day because it wasn't quite ready to operate yet. When we did ride it, it still wasn't finished, but it was close enough that it could be ridden. It's a quick ride, but lots of fun - and scary.

This is it.

This is what we're building - The Tornado.

The pictures didn't seem to be working right when I visited this page.

Work, work, work

Not much time for anything other than work. The slide that we're building has never been built this way before. So we're sort of pioneering the process and it's a bit slow as we work out all the kinks.

Oh yeah, I get to work 20-70 feet off the ground in a little man-lift and crawl around in the slide's exterior structure (pictures coming soon I promise). It's kinda fun to be up there, wearing a safety harness of course.

Rimsitter update

The Rimsitter wanted me to emphasize just how well he cleans the rim.

He cleans it very well - obsessively in fact.

He thought that my previous post gave the impression that he was sitting on the crud. There is no crud on the rim when he sits down. He cleans it all off before he sits down.

Rimsitter

I know this guy who never sits on the toilet seat.

He lifts the seat, wipes the rim with toilet paper, covers it with toilet paper, and sits directly on the rim. He does this everywhere - at home, public restrooms... everywhere.

I told him that the rim probably has more germs than the seat and he could probably just clean the seat off and cover it with toilet paper, but he seems to be so paranoid about "butt germs" that he won't sit on the seat where other people's bare butts have been.

I mean the rim is covered with hairs, dried urine, and all kinds of crud.

It's so weird. I mean, has anyone else ever heard of this kind of thing? If so, leave a comment.

What's "week end"?

I'm working 7 days this week. All 10+ hour days - except for that one which was 9, but the extra half hour today and yesterday made up for that.

It's nice to have a job. This is the job I've been looking for for the last eight months.

I'll try to get some pictures of the slide we're building

about that job

Oh yeah, I build water slides for a living now - big ones - all over the country.

I'm in Wisconsin now. I'll be going to Orlando, FL after Thanksgiving.

Job

I got a job. Travel, paid room and board, good money. It's nice. But I'll still be broke for a few weeks until I get my first paycheck.
