On the Impossibility of Time Travel

Tom noticed this article on slashdot and pointed it out to me.

The idea is that time travel is logically impossible despite what the spacetime physicists say.

Hey Tim, you may be interested in this post on my blog.

I found the article. It doesn't really say much. It's a pronouncement, not an argument. Follow the links in that article. The guy accuses several real physicists of being crackpots. Read the entire thing. Apparently he understands relativity, but no one else does. However, it is all pronouncement, with no references of any kind. "I get it, they don't."

I also like the part where he calls anyone who corrected his grammar "grammar Nazis."

Who's the crackpot here?

That said, there is a vast difference between what is theoretically possible and what is practical. Time travel may be theoretically possible (sort of, read what a real scientist has to say) but don't plot to kill baby hitler just yet.

WTF? Is blogger screwing up links somehow?

This should be the right link

Okay, that one worked.
